Clinical Quality
Patient-centered surgical care and clinical excellence.
For more than 25 years the staff and surgeons in CSA affiliated surgery centers have worked with a deep commitment to assure patients receive the best possible care and surgical outcomes. Clinical quality, safety and patient satisfaction are paramount to the patient experience which is why CSA surgery centers deploy a robust clinical quality program and advanced technology that helps caregivers measure, track and report patient outcomes. We are proud that each year more than 100,000 patients and 400 surgeons choose to receive care and give care in a CSA affiliated surgery center.
Clinical quality backed by data.
- CSA ambulatory surgery centers are accredited by nationally recognized healthcare organizations such as the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and The Joint Commission (TJC). All CSA surgery centers are licensed by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
- Patients at our surgery centers should expect to receive excellent care and service. Our 2024 Top Box scores reflect this:
- Facility Rating 0-10: 93%
- Willingness to Recommend: 92%
- Facilities and Staff: 98%
- Our surgery centers participate in the federal Ambulatory Surgical Center Quality Reporting (ASCQR) Program, which is designed to evaluate and monitor care provided to patients in ambulatory surgery centers.
- CSA-partnered ASCs have achieved the coveted Leapfrog Top ASC award nine times, an honor bestowed on only a select group each year. Leapfrog evaluates facilities based on a comprehensive set of data that is provided voluntarily by ASCs.

The CSA Registry Program
The CSA Registry Program’s mission is to improve orthopedic care through the collection, analysis, and reporting of actionable data.
The information collected assists in making long-term decisions regarding orthopedic surgery. It is used to track the effectiveness of surgical procedures, and the implants used during those surgeries. Types of information collected not only includes surgical information, such as materials used, surgical timing, and medications; but also, patient-reported outcomes (PROs). PROs are outcome measures that are directly reported by the patient to help better understand a treatment’s efficacy. PROs are used at CSA facilities to assist surgeons in evaluating their practices. PROs can also be used directly by patients to gauge their recovery compared to other patients undergoing similar operations.
PROs allow patients the opportunity to report their health status relating to:
- Quality of Life
- Joint function and pain
- Activity levels
- Long-term surgical success
The Patient Experience
